Helacious is a 44’ aluminum sailboat, technically a cutter rigged masthead sloop. We bought the plans for the Dix43 and built her in our backyard starting in 2009, launching in 2016. A book detailing this project will be available soon. Since then we have made two circuits of the North Atlantic, sailing to Great Britain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Netherlands. Sailing south to Spain, Portugal, Madeira and Canary Islands before heading to Cape Verde Islands and over to the Caribbean. A number of winters thoroughly exploring the Caribbean, with a summer off to check out Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. We are currently taking the Viking route back towards the USA.
