Helacious is a 43’ aluminum sailboat, technically a cutter rigged masthead sloop. We bought the plans for the Dix43 and built her in our backyard starting in 2009, launching in 2016. Since moving onboard full time in January 2020, we have made two circuits of the North Atlantic, sailing to Great Britain, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and Netherlands. Sailing south to Spain, Portugal, Madeira and Canary Islands before heading to Cape Verde Islands and over to the Caribbean. A number of winters thoroughly exploring the Caribbean, with a summer off to check out Nova Scotia and Newfoundland. We made our third Atlantic crossing to return to northern Europe, spending a winter in London. In the summer of 2025 we completed the Viking route back to the USA, sailing via the Faroes, Iceland and Greenland. We are currently wintering in the Bahamas, enjoying the warmer waters.
